D. Philip HaineD. Philip Haine is founder and principal of Product Vision Associates. Philip has been creating products for over 20 years, first as a software engineer at Microsoft and GO Corporation, then as lead interaction designer at Apple's software subsidiary, Claris. In 1997, Philip founded Obvious Design, LLC, where, over 12 years, he worked on the design of over 45 products for over 25 clients including Gap, Palm, Intuit, LUNAbar and Yahoo. His work has been used by millions and has earned several awards and patents. His user experience architecture for gap.com was featured in the popular book, Don't Make Me Think. Philip developed several tools to help with product design and product vision including the Design Pyramid, SSNiF Scenarios, Formal Needs Analysis and more. Philip has a B.Math in Computer Science and Psychology, from the University of Waterloo. Philip writes about product vision at ProductVision.org, and gives away design and vision ideas at StealThisIdea.com. His product vision framework is the subject of an upcoming book. Elizabeth PittElizabeth Pitt is an independent Investor/Entrepreneur at her firm, Helix Business Ventures. Prior to that she was Director of Product Management at Intuit in charge of new business initiatives. Elizabeth was a senior Associate at McKinsey, a partner at Celeris Consulting and Director of Sales Strategy at Jel Sert Specialty Foods. Elizabeth has an MBA from The University of Chicago - Booth School of Business, and is a master sommelier. |
